From the classroom
to the courthouse.

I teach American government, constitutional law, comparative politics, and the political questions that connect institutions to people’s lives.

At Centenary, my work includes developing courses, mentoring students, conducting research, and bringing public life into the classroom. My Introduction to Law students have visited Shreveport City Court to observe proceedings and speak with legal professionals.

A September 2026 campus conversation connected students with Judge Brittany Arvie, Judge Emily Merckle, and U.S. Marshal Brian Barber. I co-organized the event with Dr. Amanda Donahoe and moderated the discussion.
